Mariah and Nick are ready to adopt?

MARIAH Carey is desperate to become a mama! The Touch My Body hitmaker— who’s married to actor/comedian Nick Cannon — is reportedly trying her best to get pregnant. And insiders say that if Carey fails to conceive within two months, she and Cannon will look to adopt a baby.

“Mariah and Nick are thrilled at the prospect of finally starting a family together,” a source said.

“Mariah feels incredibly blessed to have a solid marriage and a soaring career — but now her primary goal is motherhood.

“If they don’t conceive naturally, then Mariah and Nick are ready to adopt. “They have lined up several potential adoption agencies. They’ve also looked up baby profiles online, and Mariah is completely enamored with two mix-raced baby girls and one cute-as-a-button boy boy as adoption possibilities.

“Mariah would love to experience pregnancy, but she and nick aren’t hung up on having a biological child. “All that really matters to them is that they begin building a family an start sharing the joys of parenthood as soon as possible.”

Cannon recently revealed that he and Carey “absolutely plan to have a family”.

Mariah Set To Leave ‘Island Def Jam’ ?!?

As a result of the lackluster reception of ‘Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel’, and Mariah Carey’s indignation with the handling of the record, sources have informed us that the songbird may just be ready to take flight to a new label. There is reliable word that Carey has been at logger-heads with label-head LA Reid for several months now.

The 39-year old diva has been signed to the Island Def Jam Music Group since 2002. The terms of the singer’s deal entail a minimum of 3 albums for the grand total of 22.5 million dollars, with her being named a joint partner with the Universal Music Group. Carey’s first LP released under the agreement was 2002’s ‘Charmbracelet’ which was followed by the 6x platinum ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’, ‘E=MC²’ and ‘Memoirs…‘, which was released on September 29th 2009.

If Carey decides to leave IDJ, we will not be shocked. The promotional efforts behind ‘Memoirs…’ reflect less than half of the energy that the label placed into the ‘Emancipation’ project. Has anyone else noticed that she has barely taken any new promotional pictures for this record with the exception of her single covers and the album booklet? Add that to Carey’s criticism’s of ‘I Want To Know What Love Is’ being chosen as a single in place of ‘H.A.T.E.U.’, and it’s easy to understand why she might be preparing to ditch the label.

It is no secret that several labels have been itching to sign Carey since she left Virgin Records in 2001. Clive Davis (Whitney Houston, Leona Lewis, Jennifer Hudson) at J Records, for instance, tried to get her to join his team. The real question is: should Carey leave IDJ, where would she fit in? Her best move would be to go back to Sony where she would be able to get the attention and funding she deserves? a plausible option now that ex-husband Tommy Mottola is no longer with the company. Either way, with a rare talent like hers, she would be an invaluable addition to any label’s lineup.

CAREY CAUSING CHRISTMAS CHAOS IN LONDON

MARIAH CAREY’s demands for a white Christmas at an upcoming London event have been refused - the singer has been told she cannot have kittens and doves at the festive bash, according to a new report.
The Santa Baby hitmaker is set to switch on the Christmas lights at the U.K. capital’s Westfield Shopping Centre on Thursday (19Nov09), and the 40 year old had vowed to make it a party to remember.
But her requests for 20 white kittens and 100 doves onstage have been turned down by the event’s organisers, according to Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper.
A source tells the publication, “We did manage to source the doves that we were going to release into the sky, but the kittens proved terribly difficult.
“In the end, it was made clear that due to health and safety (restrictions), there was no way we could have the animals at Westfield. We do not allow pets into Westfield - that rule would apply for everyone.”
And Carey’s diva demands didn’t stop at kittens and doves.
The insider adds, “We have worked extremely hard to make sure that Mariah’s event is fantastic. Even the model of car (she arrives in) had to be changed six times to one that her people liked.”
